“Work hard, have fun and make it happen.” One of the phrases that represents the #1 Spanish tennis player in history is the one that best defines what will be experienced – starting this January 9 – in the Buenaventura Sports Club courts.
“This is a great opportunity for Panamanian tennis to come and train with the coaches of this prestigious academy.” Juan Pablo Aguilera, manager of the club, sums up what the organization of this event means for the country.
The Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar opened its doors in 2016 and has become a benchmark in the development of new talents through their “Building a Champion” methodology.
For the first time in the country, the technical staff of the academy made up of 4 professors, will develop this program for tennis training and recreational-sports activities, between January 9 and 14, 2022 in between 9 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon in the following categories:
Children between 6 – 7 years
Hours: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Orange Dot Ball
|Children between 8 – 10 years
Hours: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Green Dot Ball
|Children between 11 – 18 years old
Hours: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Hours: 7 a.m. – 9 a.m.
The goal for younger players is to improve the game and maximize potential through the Rafa Nadal Methodology. Learning how to play modern and creative tennis with advanced technical and tactical skills. They will also learn about the positive values that Rafa transmits both on and off the pitch, setting an example not only to the players, but to entire communities.
For adults, the camp is designed to help players excel at their game. The workouts focus on technique, tactics, mindset, and performance.
“This is one of the best tennis events that has been organized in the country and it will allow tennis fans to improve their skills. We hope this will be the first of many Rafa Nadal Academy campuses in the country”, Aguilera mentioned.
